My thoughts are with the family of Private Matthew Thornton. Private Thornton was killed in Afganhistan on Wednesday. Private Thornton was from Barnsley. Lest we forget.

Hello all!

I am still looking for a few more stories to complete the charity book for this year’s Poppy Appeal to help support the Royal British Legion. If you have a story or know someone who as and might want to take part please email poppyappeal@nibell.co.uk

Stories must be between 500-1000 words in length. I am looking for stories from Afghanistan and Iraq in particular. But I am interested to read any stories you want to send. I am looking for stories from people from all walks of life.

I will reply to each correspondence I receive individually but please be patient.
